Before placing an order, you will need to have an idea of what size you would like your portrait to be. If you already know where you would like it and have an idea of how you'll be getting it framed then that will make the choice easier.

  • For a single animal I would recommend going for either A4 or A3.

  • For two or three pets A3 or A2

  • Any more than three I would recommend A2.

I will need good quality photographs that clearly show the animals eyes and hair or fur, and any unique details that make them stand out from others.

You'll need to make sure the lighting is good (especially for a black or white-haired animal) with good contrast showing as much detail as possible. To get the best light for a photograph I would recommend taking a photograph outside or by window light and without flash.

You can see tips on how to photograph your pet here

If you are located in the Westcountry, or I am planning a trip your way, I would be more than happy to come and meet your dog (or cat, horse, cow, etc.) and take my own photos. The cost of fuel for my travel will be added to the price of the portrait if this is something you would like.

Meeting the animals if possible is ideal, as a picture doesn't always reflect the personality of the subject. This of course is not always possible so, many good quality pictures are essential.

On confirmation of a commission I ask for a 50% deposit.  This can be paid through bank transfer, PayPal or by cheque.

I will then send you a scan of the completed portrait by email.  If satisfied I will then send you the portrait by registered post on receipt of the balance (plus postage).

I can post internationally.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions  and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

If you are purchasing a portrait for a friend or family member but unsure  what they would like you can also purchase a voucher from me for someone as a gift. This means they can then chose exactly what they would like. This would be the perfect present for an animal lover.
